Everyone know plastic is bad right? Plastic bags, bird strangling 6 pack holders etc etc. Humans use and discard a great amount of plastic, and it’s been proven not healthy for storing food and water. The Swiss company Sigg makes these slick bottles with a special internal liners that are resistant to scent and flavor, so you can rest assured one beverage will not contaminate the next. Recently, there has been a lot of press concerning Lexan plastic water bottles (Polycarbonate #7) leaching harmful chemicals into the container’s ingredients. They have partnered with stopglobalwarming.org to create this somewhat snooty bottle that trumpets its superiority, and lets everyone know you are doing your part…to not use more plastic. Sadly I do not wear ties, or I would be all over this electrifying offering from the indie designers at Cyberoptix. Not only have they chosen one of my favorite jewel bright shades of blue, they have graced it with a silk screened jumble of black tentacles. Brings to mind the great old one, Cthulhu, or perhaps an octopus or Architeuthis, the much sought after giant squid.
