Deadworry Grey Seahorse Dress: charming oceanic icon

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

I think I am in love with the indie designers at Deadworry - they have my taste for oceanic creatures dialed in and have been featured on BirdFight repeatedly. Today I present their sweetly charming grey seahorse baby doll mini dress or tunic tank (how you choose to wear it is up to you). The dark grey a-line tank features a hand printed light grey seahorse graphic across the lower right hand quadrant - a large daddy and much smaller baby. Super cute! I am very charmed by seahorses and their unusual approach to life in the ocean. The mini dress is made of 100% lightweight cotton and has a very forgiving freestyle fit with gathering under the front and back square neckline. Can be washed cold with like colors and requires line drying.

Men’s Sequined Vishnu T-Shirt: supreme being takes flight

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

With a bold teal and yellow color scheme, this Vishnu tee from Artful Dodger is a real eye catcher. Vishnu is known as the supreme being who is responsible for the preservation of the universe. Pretty big job, eh? This rendering captures him with talons, immense wings and a crown upon his head. Printed on a white cotton t-shirt, Vishnu is front and center across the chest, and there is a small logo printed on the back. The shirt is also available in a khaki version.

The Gama-Go Bridge is Under Attack!

Monday, May 12th, 2008

No it’s not the Cloverfield monster invading San Francisco, instead the historic Golden Gate bridge is under attack by a giant squid! This shirt was conjured up by the great designers of Gama-Go and will help you show your San Fran Squidly pride. I wonder if this was inspired by the Humboldt squid invasion that is rapidly advancing up the California coastline.

Supermaggie Women’s Octopus and Waves V Neck Hoodie: cephalopod love

Monday, May 12th, 2008

Dang but this is one of the coolest hoodies I have seen for the summer. Brought to you by the indie design crew at Supermaggie, it showcases their cephalopod love and fine aesthetic sensibilities. Front and center is a large black octopus, while the back is covered with a more detailed print which includes an upside down octopus as well as multiple blue waves. The two sided, two color print really makes this v neck hoodie stand out as a fabulous find. Printed on an oatmeal colored raglan pullover hoodie and made of a unique eco-fabric which is knitted imperfectly to create a vintage look, it is machine washable. With sleeves that hit above the elbow, marsupial pockets, and a plunging v neckline it’s both cute and perfect for layering.

Women’s Earth Echelon Mary Jane’s: glossy burnished style

Sunday, May 11th, 2008

I love Earth brand shoes and covet these slick, high style mary jane’s. Featuring leather uppers and their patented negative heel technology, these shoes promote natural body alignment through wear. I like the look of these mary jane’s with the pieced together leather and bold overstitching in black. Specifically recommended for people who are on their feet all day, as the body posture created by the shoes relieves fatigue. They are available in 5 different colors, rosso calf is pictured below. Featuring an adjustable instep strap and fully padded footbed, these shoes are both comfortable and attractive. Currently on sale at Zappos.

Box Car Bag in Black: charming anthropomorphic tote bag

Saturday, May 10th, 2008

Brought to you by Loop Design, I am smitten with this cute monster faced tote bag. The bag is made of black and white pinstriped cotton, and features two different charming faces with eyes and mouths. Choose between the frowning toothy faced side (complete with removable fabric bows) or the toothless but upbeat smiling side. The tote measures 12.5 inches wide by 14.5 inches high, and 3.5 inches deep - big enough for a day bag, or perhaps a diaper bag if you are child inclined.

She-Bible Cowl Neck Dress: saucy and fashion forward

Friday, May 9th, 2008

I really like this fashion forward take on a classic dress. With a flattering a-line skirt and empire waist as well as a back tie, this is a style that is going to look good on nearly anyone, no matter what your personal attributes. Composed of a poly/viscose/lycra blend and brought to you by the indie style house of She-Bible, I had a really tough time deciding which color I liked best. Pictured below is the mauve version, but their cobalt blue is also lovely. Available in sizes XS to XL, this looks like a perfect spring dress that can be kept casual or dressed up as needed.

Squidfire Men’s Squidplosion Ringer Tee: Lovecraftian tangle

Thursday, May 8th, 2008

Perhaps a bit light hearted for Cthulhu, this fetching tentacled tee might just be a ploy to draw you in. Step closer to peer at my tentacles…Even if you are not a fan of H.P. Lovecraft, this great print of an immense tangle of tentacles is very eye catching and is likely to garner some attention. The green squid filled print resides on a green ringer melange American Apparel tee, and is a Squidfire classic.

Thursday, May 8th, 2008

Continuing along with our camouflage postings, here’s one for the gents. If you plan to be sprinting around in the ninja forest in your underwear, you might want to invest some of your war chest in some of these Paul Frank Ninja Flauge Briefs. Strip down and slap them on, and you are ready to creep through the forests undetected…oh yeah, you might want to also invest in some body paint to cover up the rest of you…Pinkskin.
