Go Ape Shirts Boo Boo Walker: hurt AT-AT walker stuck in the dreaded head cone

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

This Star Wars inspired tee (or hoodie, both are available) is wonderful and charming to me - I certainly fell in love with the transport “walkers” and their oversized mechanical splendor when I saw the movie. The idea of one of these mechanical beasties having some sort of visit to the mechanic and being stuck in the dreaded (by pets, at least) head cone tickles my fancy. There will be no reaching around to lick the incision for this AT-AT, and it’s chances of running into things and falling are greatly increased. The graphic is bright and eye catching with a red walker and bright blue cone printed on an asphalt colored American Apparel tee. Designed by artist Dave Horowitz, and available for guys and girls.

Iron Fist Men’s White Day of the Dead Hoodie: homage to Baron Samedi

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

This white hoodie with a black all over skull and skeleton motif calls to mind the voodoo loa Baron Samedi much more than the traditional Mexican style skulls I associate with the day of the dead. This full zip hoodie is pretty eye catching in it’s black and white starkness and bold skeletons with top hats. The Iron Fist logo is embroidered in black on the waist, and the sweatshirt features distressed seams and marsupial pockets. Made of 80% cotton and 20% polyester, you will need to wash in cold water and line dry.

Mod Cloth Flowers in the Park Dress: flirty cuteness

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

Looking for a charming new dress for the upcoming summer? This sweet and saucy little black vintage inspired dress may well be perfect. Black and slimming, this little outfit stands out with demure yet flirtatious cut outs and a metallic floral embroidery detail at the neckline and skirt. Easy to slip on and match to just about anything, yet with enough flair to make it shine. Made of 100% rayon, the drape is going to be fabulous. Available in sizes small to large, be aware that the vintage inspired cut probably requires that you be slender in the waistline and ribcage.

Oakley Men’s Big Wave Fleece Hoody: subtle dark waters

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

This black mineral washed hoodie from Oakley is another perfect piece to add to your wardrobe. Featuring all the fine details of a great hooded sweatshirt - full zip front, marsupial pockets for your hands, and the all important hood. The dark and dense grey wave print brings it to perfection by making it stand out in a subtle and refined manner. Made of 80% cotton and 20% polyester, the vortex of tidal waves are printed all over and the mineral wash brings texture and softness to this zip up sweatshirt. There is a tiny dark embroidered “O” on the chest, but that is it for branding. Perfect, says I.

Emily the Strange Women’s Creepy Bone Cami Set: bone-tacular girly goodness

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008

That’s right, I am on a skeletal roll! Check out this super charming girls sleep set featuring a tank with rib bones and vertebrae graphic, plus matching undies with pelvic bones. Brought to you from Emily the Strange, be aware that the bones are only on the front side of the set. Actual details about the garment are hard to come by, but I am guessing the set is made of cotton and spandex, with more of an emphasis on the stretch. There is another, nearly impossible to find version (at least here in the States) with additional red detailing that is super fine. Here is one selling on Ebay from Hong Kong, should you be feeling the love. Either choice is perfect for your inner goth girl, or old skool punk rocker.

Men’s Silver Foil Rib Cage Pull-Over Hoodie: skeletal love

Monday, March 17th, 2008

I just can’t seem to get enough skeleton printed clothing - I blame Danzig and my repeated early exposure to the original Misfits and their bone heavy mystique. While this blonde boy model is not selling the coolness, I am loving the full rib cage and full length arms done in silver foil skeleton print. Lightweight and made of 100% cotton, they’ve added some texture with all over grey dots. The dots give the skeletal graphics a sort of ASCII generated feeling, which I like. The print is only on the front side of this pull-over sweatshirt, but I would still rock it. Available in sizes XS to XXL, this is a nice unisex piece.
