Squidfire Men’s Mantis Tee: show your mantis love

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

The praying mantis would be one of the few “bugs” that I am actually fascinated with, versus repulsed by and/or frightened of. They are hard to resist with their triangular head and cool regard when handled - they seem to look into your face with some sort of understanding and connection. Plus they have mad hunting skills! The fine independent designers at Squidfire bring you this charming green graphical version of the praying mantis screened on an olive colored American Apparel tee. Available in sizes Small to XL.

Oakley Men’s Golf Pro Pant: have enough game for these pants?

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

Your golf game had better be out-fucking-standing to rock these bad ass argyle pants from Oakley, as they are sure to garner attention in any setting. I believe they would even transition from the golf course to the discotheque seamlessly - these definitely strike me as party pants. Black golf pants with a bright blue and white argyle pattern (or the gold tone version on white pants known as nickel), they are made of 52% rayon polynosic and 48% polyester, and are cut for your active lifestyle on the green. The pants feature a twin snap closure and zipper fly, as well as hand pockets, back pockets and even a cargo pocket with eyelet venting.

All Tentacles Women’s Tee: many armed creature of the briny deep

Friday, March 28th, 2008

Is it an octopus? Or perhaps a cuttlefish? I shall imagine that it is a graphical representation of the great and fierce Architeuthis - legendary giant squid. All I know for sure is that tentacled creatures are fascinating, and this sweet ladies tee from the indie designers at Deadworry is great! They start with a black 100% ring-spun pima cotton short sleeved tee then add a lovely white tentacled graphic that wraps from the left front to left rear. Hand printed on a shirt that is specifically cut for a woman, and available in sizes Small to XL. Use the code “BirdFightRocks” at check out to receive 10% off of your entire order.

Forest Growers Men’s Tech Jacket: I love you Mary Jane!

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

Dang, do I covet this sweet ass growers jacket from Skidz! Maybe that’s just the wanna-be stoner in me, but…look at it! Green, leafy and somewhat subtle as well as highly functional - these are the earmarks of good style. Not only does this lightweight jacket have an all over print of some of my favorite leafy greens (sweet cannabis, how I adore thee), they have also included another personal fave in their design - sharks! The zipper pull features an open mouthed shark, and the snaps on the hood are also full of toothy menace. Made of nylon and water repellent, the jacket also has arm-pit vents with orange mesh lining. As you might expect, this windbreaker does feature a couple of hidden stash pockets for anything you might want to keep secret. Part of a limited print series, each jacket is numbered and only 100 are available, so if you are feeling the love you’ll want to move quickly.

Monarchy Crane Tee- Asian Beauty

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

There are a bevy of new monarchy t-shirts over at 80’s Purple and we really like this asian inspired Crane Tee. The simple red and black on white is classic, and the watercolor style of the image is quite tastefully done. The t-shirt is printed on a high quality cotton tee.

La Blanca Zebra Crossing Tankini & Brief: sexy animal print two piece

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

It’s almost time to break out the swim suits and flaunt your good taste and sexy bod. I am really liking this mahogany colored zebra print two piece for lots of reasons. Not only is it a tankini, which provides a little more coverage through the torso, it has lots of modern flair with the bandeau style and large wooden ring at the chest as well as a contrasting orange halter tie. The effect is modern, sexy, yet not as exposed as some styles. The top also features a shelf bra and lightly foam lined cups for support - this suit is going to look extra great on ladies who are smaller chested. The bottoms continue the cuteness with side ties in the contrasting orange fabric, full rear coverage and a low rise. The chevron pattern of the zebra markings creates an elongating effect, and the contrasting orange ties really makes this suit pop. Made of 85% nylon and 15% spandex, this two piece is kinda spendy, but you’re going to be a knock out, so it’s definitely worth the cost. The pieces are sold separately.

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

Wow, who knew you could use your 4 legged pals’ scrap hair from brushings and have a custom dog hair hat knit by indie designer Lisa from Handspun Hats? I am smitten with this blue and red round hat which happens to include Akita hair. A medium weight knit, this charming round cap is designed to cover the ears. Other fibers used include Corriedale wool, Merino wool and tussah silk. This hat is number 18 on the page.
