Men’s Hand-made Beard Cap: stylishly protect your facial hair from inclement weather

Friday, February 29th, 2008

This is one of the sweetest things I have seen in awhile - a face warming, head covering, mustache-having knit “beard cap.” I feel sure I could love any man daring enough to pull this off. Hand made of Icelandic wool, not only do you get to choose from 3 colors, but there is both a long and short version available. Brought to you by indie designer Vik Prjonsdottir, as you might guess, he hails from Iceland. Choose from medium brown, light grey or dark grey and know that with any one of these, your face and facial hair will be warm and dry no matter what the weather.

Keen Women’s Sienna Ballerina: new colors for your feets

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

I have become addicted in the last year or so to slip-on shoes and their easy comfort. I like most things Keen, and own a few pair of their sandals. They are a good fit for me, and pretty rugged as well as reasonably styled. They recently released these cute little ballerina style slip ons in 5 colors, and I can’t wait to get a pair. Choose from rust (pictured below), mineral blue, sweet pea, coffee liquer, or black. Featuring a waterproof suede upper and natural rubber and cork outsole. These ballerina flats will look good with jeans, capris, or a short skirt once the weather gets warmer.

No Demographic Men’s Sleep Stages Tee: the dream state

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

Even in the modern age we don’t fully understand consciousness and how the body pulls it all into focus and self awareness and thought. And what about sleep and dreaming? The human brain is always on the go on some level or another, and this black men’s tee is sure to spark some conversations with its sleep stage wavelengths across the front. Hand printed white ink on black tee with a washed out vintage look, you can compare the waveforms of awake, the 4 stages of sleep, and the dream state. Brought to you by Canadian based indie designer No Demographic, the tee is made of top quality pre-shrunk cotton. A special thanks to Shana herself for hooking us up with a 10% off discount code. Just type in “BirdFightRocks” for 10% off your order.

Giraffe keyhole halter one-piece bathing suit: sexy safari

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

I am a sucker for animal print (it just never gets old for me when done well), and Gap has caught my attention with this playful and saucy giraffe print one piece swim suit. The keyhole style top is going to provide a really flattering cut for the smaller busted ladies, and the bathing suit offers moderate rear coverage that many girls will find appealing. Too much coverage, you say? Fear not, they have also released a sexy giraffe print halter top style two piece.

Bamboo balcony bra and low rise shorty: eco conscious underthings

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

Chantelle brings us a charmingly detailed and eco conscious bra and panty set partially made of bamboo fiber. The bra is a three quarter cup balcony style, and is two toned with a wide contrast band at the top of the cups whose color is carried through to the straps. Another stylish detail is a tiny metal hoop at the central gore - it really adds some pizazz, while serving no utilitarian purpose. The panties are a cute boyshort style offering full coverage of your rump and sitting low on the hips. The wide contrast bands at the waist and legs carry on the two tone theme, and help make this bra set super cute, practical, and very current. Made of a soft bamboo blend jersey, and available in beige and cream or grey and black (pictured below).

Artifex Windmill Tee: organic threads fund carbon offsets and turbine farms

Monday, February 25th, 2008

If you are not familiar with Artifexshirts.com, you should check them out. They are a relatively new company with a grand vision of how the future could be, with less pesticides through growing organic cotton, less carbon dioxide emissions, and more great alternative energy sources like wind turbine farms. With each purchase of a windmill tee through their website, they are donating $3 to Native Energy, an organization that facilitates the production of clean energy projects. Purchases are currently funding the Owl Feather War Bonnet Wind Farm in St. Francis, South Dakota which would not have existed without this program and is scheduled for completion by the end of the year. This wind turbine farm is a facility which will have the capability of generating 30 million watts of electricity. Hot damn! All that from harnessing the wind. The windmill tee is made of 100% organic cotton and was sewn sweatshop free. Featuring a turbine farm in silhouette across the front, and an Artifex logo on the left bottom of the tee, these shirts are available for both men and women. We like the windmill on aloe color combination, as pictured below.
