2008 Campaign T-shirt roundup!
You can’t deny it’s been an exciting year for politics. No matter who you support there has been merchandise targeted just for you. The Republicans seem to be focused on comparing themselves to animals, lipstick and pitbulls, mavericks and such, where as the Democrats have hammered hope in their slogans “Change” and “Hope”. The time is rapidly approaching for us all to exercise our right to cast a vote for the next “leader of the free world”, and we’ve tried to find some of the best shirts from the season. OBVIOUSLY you might see some you love and they might not be listed here…well, add them to the comments. We’ll kick this off with a cute video we found on the net of an elevator political shirt strip off!
Obama vs. McCain T-Shirt Throwdown
SEE ALL OUR PICKS FOR BEST CAMPAIGN 2008 SHIRTS AFTER THE JUMP!
Undeniably the most polarizing event in this already highly divisive election came with the choice of Sarah Palin as running mate for the McCain ticket…She’s the Pitbull with lipstick, the Barracuda, etc etc. Love her or hate her, here are a few shirts for the Palin faithful.
Sarah Palin Pit Bull Lipstick T-Shirt
Here it is, Sarah’s kickoff to the GOP convention and showcased in her opening remarks, just where she was coming from.
$36.45

Here is a classier looking pink t-shirt for the women who support the Barracuda from Alaska.

Joe Biden is my homeboy
One if the best videos of the campaign season I saw was this cute video of a young reporter named Damon Weaver interviewing Joe Biden. At the end of it the little guy states “Joe Biden is my homeboy”.
$23.40
Joe Biden- is my homeboy
John McCain 2008 T-Shirt
He’s the self proclaimed Maverick of the Republican party, and here is the official campaign shirt from John McCain. There is not a whole lot of creativity from a design stand point here, but it’s very traditional straight forward image which is what you’d expect from John. He’s not winning the battle to convince people he will change anything in Washington, he’s tried, but I get the feeling people voting for him are more likely to look to his experience, and war record for their argument.
$18

Obama Obey Shirt
As a designer I must confess I’ve been incredibly impressed by just about every aspect of the Obama campaign. These people created some really excellent design to sell this whole package with class. Add to this the independent artists that were clearly inspired by Obama like Shepard Fairey (who in case you didn’t know was the artist who originally created the iconic Andre the Giant images) and you are up against some real talent. This one image has become instantly recognizable, and parodied a million times as evidence of it’s greatness.
$18
Obama- Obey
Obama Tree
This shirt stood out for its use of other colors besides the traditional red white and blue. The shirt has a nice eco friendly green color scheme with a tree, all combined with the Obama logo.
$25
Obama Tree
Obama Dogfart
This shirt wins my Beavis and Butthead award…I was going to keep all these shirts positive so, I apologize if you’re offended, but c’mon have a sense of humor. I’ll add one from each side of the argument. This shirt dispenses with any regard for politics, and simply proclaims your childish distaste for all things Obama, becasue we all know there is simply nothing worse than being trapped in the room with a gassy canine.
$22.99
Obama Dogfart
Vader Bush
I couldn’t really find any decent shirts mocking McCain and most of the Palin ones just call her a bitch etc…we need a bit more creativity than that. However we’ve had 8 years of Bush and there are loads of pretty good ones, and since he has disappeared from this election we thought we’d pay him some homage. We like this subtle image which shows the shadow of sith evil behind the facade of Presidential decency.
$16.50
Vader Bush
Well that’s it! We’ve got two days to go until election day, so this might be your last few days to proclaim your love or hate. Get out and Vote people!

The Damon Weaver one is really dissapointment. He was my highlight of the election. It should at least say “Joe Biden is now my homeboy.”

Ah yeah your correct…”Now” my homeboy. That kid is so awesome, he was a ray of sunlight in the election for sure.
