Olukai Kekai! Aquatic Perfection
Apparently the people at the Olukai company in Hawaii pay attention to things online, as they read our recent post on the extremely classy Hiapo (where I whined a bit about the cost). I have been test driving a pair of these Kekai sandals for about a week now, and all I can say is the search for my favorite sandal is over. These are the waterproof version of the Olukai line and they are amazingly comfortable for a thong style sandal. The fit is slightly tight on me as I have a wide foot, so order a half size up if this is also applicable to you, however this assures they sit nice and snug on your foot. This might be a problem on an inferiorly constructed sandal, but the Kekai is soft and I had no irritation from wearing them right out of the box for long periods of time. The Kekai comes in a nice variety of colors to match your summer wardrobe, and features a Soft EVA/rubber drop-in footbed, which is nice and cushy. Like the beautiful islands that inspire their footwear the Olukai line is easy on the eyes, and relaxing on the toes.
