Handprinted Japanese Freesize GEISHA
Wow! We found this really pretty shirt on Etsy. It was created by a small Thai clothing company that uses interesting methods of screen printing to reproduce master artworks on clothing…Also check out the super cool “tigers of power” tee shirt. Here we have their Japanese Ukiyoe Woodblock tank top for women.
Ukiyoe is a style of wood block printing created and developed in Japan during the Edo era (1603-1867). “Uki” means floating and “yo” means world. “e” in Ukiyoe means picture(s). So Ukiyoe literally means “pictures of the floating world.”
